Risiera di San Sabba - Ts
La Risiera di San Sabba, costruita come edificio per la spilatura del riso, venne utilizzata dai nazisti durante l'occupazione come centro di detenzione e smistamento dei prigionieri verso i lagher per lo sfruttamento coatto al lavoro o allo sterminio.
Nel primo stanzone, denominato Cella della Morte, i prigionieri catturati o prelevati da alre prigioni, venivano rinchiusi per poi essere uccisi nel giro di poche ore, mentre nelle piccole cellette, venivano rinchiusi per interi giorni o settimane per essere sottoposti a torture per poi essere eliminati tramite fucilazione o impiccagione e alla fine cremati
Il forno crematorio venne distrutto dai nazisti prima della fuga, per nascondere le prove dei loro crimini, ma sotto le macerie sono stati rinvenuti sacchi di carta, cone quelli utilizzati per il cemento, contenenti resti umani.
Si conta che piu' di cinquemila persone sono state uccise e cremate in questo lagher, mentre sono molte di piu'quelle fatte prigioniere per essere mandate al lavoro obbligatorio o destinate ad essere soppresse in altri lagher nazisti

The Risiera di San Sabba, built as a rice threshing facility, was used by the Nazis during the occupation as a detention center and sorting center for prisoners destined for forced labor or extermination.
In the first large room, known as the Death Cell, prisoners captured or taken from other prisons were locked up and killed within hours. In the smaller cells, they were held for days or weeks, subjected to torture, then executed by shooting or hanging, and finally cremated.
The crematorium was destroyed by the Nazis before their escape, to hide evidence of their crimes. However, paper bags, similar to those used for cement, containing human remains were found under the rubble.
It is estimated that more than five thousand people were killed and cremated in this concentration camp, while many more were taken prisoner to be sent to forced labor or destined for suppression in other Nazi concentration camps.
